USB installer

Hi guys,
I recently had to install vicidialnow on a rack mount server without cd-rom drive. So I decided to create a bootable USB stick with the ISO image.
I used unetbootin to prepare the stick and then tried to manually edit the installation files. Unfortunately I miserably failed - spent a whole weekend on it with no result...
I think it would be a good idea to have a USB version of the installer. Maybe someone with more linux skills could take the approach...
Thanks,
heinz
