Chanspy - SIP and Extension

Hi,

I have VICIDIAL NOW deployed on a 2950 Dell Power Edge server (Intel). The box has been upgraded to VICIDIAL 1.4.26.2 in order to facilitate the use of the AJAM http service.
I currently have over 30 agents dialing using Noojee click, which equates to over 30 agents dialing manually using sip soft phones. Therefore I am unable to use 0 and session ID for monitoring. I am currently using Chanspy, which is working fine. I have not had any hang ups on the box as yet. I have the leisure of cycling through calls using *.

I got the idea to use Chanspy from my PBX asterisk box, FreePBX, which I hear is a TRIBOX. It is also VICIDIAL version 1.4 and has a Chanspy configuration in the extensions-custom.conf equiped with macros and the works. I would like a feature that the TRIBOX Chanspy offers, which is to hear the extension I am monitoring when I initiate a channel spy/monitoring session.

My current Chanspy line in extensions.conf is :
exten => 1234,1,Chanspy(SIP,q)
-which does not give any audio when switching from extension to extension using *

exten => 555,1,Chanspy(SIP/) - also works and states SIP before each monitoring session.

What do I input for the Chanspy feature to state "SIP, Extension 113"?

That's not a vicidial version. look at the bottom of your manager screens, it shows 2.X.X build XXXXXX. THAT is the vicidial version. You should also list your asterisk version (which is likely what you had here for the vicidial version, so we'll just keep truckin ...)

FreePBX is included in Trixbox (along with alot of other things, but is an independent Open Source Project and be aware that trixbox is specifically NOT supported by Digium. That is to say that if you have a serious problem and decide to "just throw money at it", you can't call digium, they will not fix it. I do not believe this is true with FreePBX, but by that time I no longer needed Digium! LOL

I have been educated :) VERSION: 2.0.5-173
BUILD: 90320-0424 is my VICIDIAL version.

I did not know that Digium didnt give support to TRIBOX, however I had the the feeling that there were some differences.

The box I am trying to configure is not TRIBOX, I just know that the feature is possible because its working on my FreePBX.
