Vicibox current install issue

I am having a problem with the vicibox install on a Dell Optiplex 260 P4

It will not install the vicidial during the first boot from set up. The files for vicidial are missing. Ok let me re-look this. and edit later my results.

We did a lot of our initial testing on Dell machines, what are the specifications of your server?

Are you following the walkthru on the vicibox.com website?

Dell P4 2.4 GHz 2 GB Mems 40GB Drive Optiplex desktop 260 -
followed walk through
We have 40 desktops and will create a box for 5 reps each and put on diff programs.

Installed openSSH (FYI)

I can ping my file server...ethernet is set up. Fire disabled on the system.

I am getting a intel rng not detected and a iTCO wait failed upon boot. It goes toUbuntu log in.

I queried MYSQL and no such files. Did a search for vicidial and I find .list file and a log.

I did a basic install for the drive it created 2 partitions.

Asterisk is not installed asterisk -r

Is there a temp file or does asterisk and vicidial install over the net? Maybe it is a connection issue. I thought I had a clear path to the router..

This is the message I am getting

Yes, you do need a clear internet connection so that it can download updates and install ViciDial. If you do not have a clear internet connection it will not work at all.

We are checking on the connections. I really love the stuff! And it is great learningQ!

Networking to internet. I verified internet access. After the system boots and gives me the chmod can not access vicidial files - do not exist. I login and ping yahoo. The pings resolve to yahoo ip address. So the box is on the internet.

I am looking into other issues why the ISO will not work yet for myself....

I installed after I waited 10 minutes between reboot. Hmm interesting. Seem network detection was slow? All systems are go.

This is the easiest complie install ISO I have seen linux based GREEAT JOOOOOOOB!!!!!

You might consider a standard 32 bit server install of ubuntu on the same machine to see if there's an issue with the basic installer not related to vici (i had an xfx motherboard that just plain won't "ubuntu")

if it's a driver issue and ubuntu doesn't like your hardware ... try one of the other 40 boxes (hopefully they aren't ALL optiplexes of the same flavor)

I agree. I have a DHCP network. The upgrade and install issues were solved when my (Not patient self) waited for the box to resolve on the network

The install issue was a network problem. We confirmed install on DELL desktop Optiplex 260 Tower versions. P 4 2.x ghz. 5 Boxes installed. All ok.

We had a similar incident. DNS server may (?) have refused the connection. The result was an error during boot when the system began to run startup scripts. Failed during "chown" of a location in "/tmp/vici-..."

And yes, it turned out to be a network issue. Resolving the network issue (quick reinstall, just to be sure, with a different DNS server) and it began the Vicidial install correctly this time upon boot.
