Can I install the Demo to a USB Key so it runs quicker?

Yes you could potentially do so but I do not know how much quicker it would be. The major slow down is that the file system is squashfs, which is like running your OS from within a zip file. All of the key things that rely on speed are loaded into tmpfs so they effectively run from ram.
