Customer Time NaN-NaN-NaN NaN:NaN:NaN

Postby randy_delgado_03 » Tue Feb 15, 2011 7:15 pm

Good Day,

I'm using Vicibox Redux 3.1.8 64 bit Asterisk: 1.4.39.1-vici.

I have encountered a problem on the date and time on the upper part of the agent crm. It displays the time correctly after you login but about 2 - 3 seconds, the format becomes like this: NaN-NaN-NaN NaN:NaN:NaN, and after about 30 seconds the "Channel:" field disappears what its displaying when engaged on a call.

I hav'nt encountered this problem from previous versions of vicibox.

Any help would be much appreciated.

1)

when you post, please post your entire configuration including (but not limited to) your installation method and vicidial version with build

this IS a requirement for posting along with reading the stickies (at the top of each forum) and the manager's manual (available on EFLO.net, both free and paid versions)

2)

It would appear that your agent is losing contact with the vicidial server. Please describe your network topology.

I've seen this happen when I messed with 2 things:

1 - Server IP: changed server's and forgot to run vicidial update IP Script.

2 - GMT settings: Set it up correctly during install and don't ever mess with it again.

If the situation is 1 then:

To change the default IP type:
/usr/share/astguiclient/ADMIN_update_server_ip.pl

If you messed with server GMT Settings, sorry, reinstall.

There are dozens of situations that may cause this, this above is my experience, maybe someone else could help.

Sorry for the late reply, just came in to the office ...

Here's my configuration:

Vicibox Redux: 3.1.8 64 bit
Asterisk: 1.4.39.1-vici
Vicidial: VERSION: 2.2.1-237 BUILD: 100510-2015
Servers: 1x DB/WEB/ARCHIVE | 1.TELEPHONY

@williamconley

We're using inter vlan routing but i assigned our vici servers and clients on the same vlan so i doubt that ist a network problem.

@marcoe

Upon installation i already configured the IP Addresses of my servers and with regards to GMT settings, usually i enter the default.

This is really new to me coz on Vicibox Redux: 3.1.6 64 bit, i did'nt have this kind of problem ...

this problem is a direct result of a lack of communication return from the vicidial server to the agent using AJAX on their agent screen.

the agent's computer requests data from the vicidial server every second. missing a return packet breaks the link and causes this issue.

perhaps you should have another look at that vlan?

try it with a single agent who is on the same physical network as the vicidial server ... if the problem goes away, you have your answer.

@williamconley

Already looked at our inter vlan configs and its a o k as usual, if this is a "lack of communication" problem just like you said, why is that our Vicibox Redux 3.1.6 64 bit which we are using on the production is running flawlessly? I set it up the same way i did with version 3.1.6 and same vlan. I'll try to dig into this and if hopefully i get it, ill post the answer ...

Thank you ...

you could always wireshark it ...

did you say you have another machine running through the same path and it's working at the same time? are you sure they are not interfering with one another?

i've had some recent cisco issues that caused behavior like this (really cool self-defense mechanisms ... unless they view Vicidial traffic as attacks and "automagically" slow down the traffic to reduce the exposure to the attack ... but only "sometimes" when the bandwidth goes beyond a certain point ...).

Happy hunting!

You should really try that test to verify that i'm right/wrong first (i'd hate to send you digging into your vlan only to later find out it was something completely different ... but i'm fairly certain)

@williamconley

*did you say you have another machine running through the same path and it's working at the same time?
-Yes, im running different versions on different servers in the same vlan.

*are you sure they are not interfering with one another?
-If giving my vici servers different IP's each server will not interfere with each other then sure enough they're not conflicting even though they're on the same vlan but then again if having two versions of vici on the same vlan is a "dont" then ill switchport the vicibox 3.1.8 servers on other vlan to test it out.

And just a quick question william: How come Vicibox Redux: 3.1.6 64 bit runs on VMWare ESXi 4.x and Vicibox Redux: 3.1.8 64 bit dont?

BTW: Thank you very much for the quick response, its really appreciated ...

I've never had a successful 64 bit install of Redux in VMWare, so I can't say. Are you positive it's 64 bit? Maybe you told VMWare it was 64 bit but used the 32bit iso?

*Are you positive it's 64 bit?
-Yes im very positive that Vicibox Redux: 3.1.6 64 bit works on VMWare ESXi 4.1 and it works like a charm. But sadly Vicibox Redux: 3.1.7 64 bit and Vicibox Redux: 3.1.8 64 bit does'nt work so i installed it on our spare servers.
