Home Based Agents Ubuntu/Vicidial which runs off of the USB/

Hi All,

Is there a way to create Ubuntu/Vicidial .iso which runs off of the USB/CD for Home Based Agents.
Something like VICIbox Demo which you do not need to install to your harddrive but Client not Server.
So you don't have to worry if Home Agents have to many applications running in background or are downloading music etc.
So they could download it on USB or Burn it on CD and reboot pc in Vicidial client mode with login screen
appearing as startup application where they need to insert Username and Password to connect to server
and no permission to modify anything.

Thats a great idea!
take a look at: Ubuntu customize live-cd https://help.ubuntu.com/community/LiveCDCustomization
and disable the modules cdrom and the usb_storage I guess

I will have to check how to customize LiveCD
to start browser with correct web address of Vicibox Server
install Zoiper and protect the system from modifying settings

Actually any liveCD will work for this. We had a client use the Vicibox 1.0.0RC2 Live Demo CD (which has a soft phone). It would certainly be possible to create a bootable CD or USB with everything needed. It could even have pre-installed links for your office (based on FQDN so you could move the IP from time to time if necessary ...). The simplest method, of course, is to use a web based phone (doddlephone or zoiperweb) and any Live Linux CD/DVD with Firefox in it. (Other browsers may work, too, but Firefox WILL work, LOL).
