So Vicibox will be moving forward in OpenSUSE instead of Ubuntu officially? I note that the Ubuntu version is no longer available for download (or at least I couldn't find it!)
You may want to alter the "home" page which still lists 2.0.5 on it.
And the "About Vicibox" button, too

Old versions are still available here:
http://download.vicidial.com/iso/vicibox/server/
We decided to move forward with OpenSuSE because it is much easier to maintain an ISO distro on it as compared to Ubuntu. Also, we(ViciDial Group) have been doing installs with OpenSuSE for over 3 years now and we have been very happy with the reliability, stability of the packaging mechanisms and performance as well as driver support.

Guys,
Which version of Redux is most suitable for a production environment?...
I wonder that every week there is a new version...

but you will notice that VICIBOX (without the redux) was the "release" for quite some time. Redux has been "Version 0.X" for quite a while, but has apparently matured to the level of full release.
We have several clients with earlier Redux, which had bugs with the installation, but apparently none with the actual system (if it missed downloading a file or had a bug, one merely resolved that issue .. but the system and programs work just great).
I am assuming that those installation bugs have been worked out and the "2.0.0" release, and its replacement of the original Vicibox on the main site would seem to back that assumption up.

Guys,
The Redux ViciBox Server doesn't come with DAHDI v.2.2.1.1, as announced, instead it comes with DAHDI 2.2.0.2.
From ViciBox WebPage:
ViciBox Redux is currently built with the following:
# OpenSuSE v.11.1 32-bit w/ PAE
# Asterisk v.1.4.27.1-vici
# DAHDI v.2.2.1.1
# LibPRI v.1.4.10.2
# Sangoma Wanpipe v.3.4.9
# Sangoma VoiceTime v.1.0.9
# VTiger CRM v.5.1.0
# ViciDial v.2.2.1
# ViciDial SVN Trunk v.2.4-256 Build 100523-0840

is that a "come with" or does it "upgrade during install to latest"?

That is a "come with" v.2.2.0.2, not the announced v.2.2.1.1.
It does not upgrade during install to latest DAHDI.

Ooops, my bad. v.2.2.1.1 is in the next release of ViciBox Redux which is based on OpenSuSE v.11.2 (Kernel 2.6.31-series). This was required to make DAHDI work on that kernel version.
I will correct the web-page to reflect the proper versions.
We also decided to start the release versions with v.2.x in order to eliminate confusion in the project names. In other words, the highest version number will be the latest (and hopefully stablest) version available.
In the beta releases (the 0.x releases), the system would change rapidly to address installer bugs, system discepencies, driver updates, etc. There will be very little difference between releases in terms of the actual running system in the 2.x tree. We will probably move to a monthly maintenance release scheme which basically just includes minor fixes to the installer as well as updated snapshots of the SVN tree. We haven't finalized this yet but will let everyone know.
I'm hoping to get the license error and partitioning scheme fixed in the next version which will ease the installation even more.

what do you mean by "can't start"?
is there an error message? can you type what the first error that occurs is?

@williamconley
If i start VICIbox redux disc and run through its OS autoconfig then i wont run vicibox-install script upon login and reboot the system on it hardisk it wont boot at all(no error, just black screen) means i dont have any installed based opensuse OS on my box..? i have to complete the vicibox-install script successfully. to be able to boot from hardisk of my box..?
same as i run vicibox-install script and reboot after zypper update then boot on hardisk still cant boot,(Black screen, no errors).

that was awful run together, i'm not sure i understood exactly what happened.
could you try that again with commas and periods (perhaps even new lines)?
at what stage of the installation does it "stray" from the manual?
Step By Step, if you would, so we can tell what actually happened (and didn't).

Are you installing it to the hard-drive first by typing 'yast2 live-installer' before running vicibox-install? Is your bios booting from the correct drive?

when you post, please post your entire configuration including (but not limited to) your installation method, vicidial version and build, asterisk version, telephony hardware (model number is helpful here), cluster information if you have one, and whether any other software is installed in the box.
Similar to This:
Vicibox X.X from .iso | Vicidial X.X.X Build XXXX | Asterisk X.X.X | Single Server | No Digium/Sangoma Hardware | No Extra Software After Installation
this IS a requirement for posting along with reading the stickies (at the top of each forum) and the manager's manual (available on EFLO.net, both free and paid versions)
I do not believe this happens for everyone installing standard or SVN from the .iso of vicibox redux, so i have to assume there is SOMETHING different about your installation compared to everyone else's. so let us begin with the above information.
have you googled your error? can i assume from this that your server is 62 and you are 6 on the 192.168.2 subnet?

um? trunk agc2.4? or "version 2.2.0"?
if it IS 2.4, please give full version & build from a php file. if it is 2.2.0-234, you may want to consider upgrading to latest 2.2.1 SVN.
if you have a "standard" setup from .iso and have not altered anything or added any new packages (which could alter php settings), something is amiss (or you just found an error in the latest SVN noone else has bumped into yet).

If he did indeed use ViciBox Redux v.2.0.0, then it is using either ViciDial v.2.2.1 Release, or the v.2.4 snapshot included from the CD (and possibly updated through SVN).
