vicibox redux 3.1 64bit install fails while booting live cd

Hi all,

I just tried to set up a new vicidial server with vicibox redux 3.1.9 64 bit. While booting the live CD I get the following on the command line:
Code: Select all
...
mounting compressed unified tree...
failed to mount ext3 clic container
failed to mount root filesystem
rebootException rebooting in 120 sec

Server specs:
Fujitsu RX300 S6
Chipset: Intel 5520
2x Xeon X5650
12 GB RAM
2x 3.5” SAS 450 GB harddrives (RAID1 based on LSI SAS2108)

Vicibox redux 3.0.6 32 bit installed without any problems, except updating wasn't possible. because the repositories weren't accessible, but this can be a firewall issue... so don't mind.

Any help is highly appreciated. Has someone experienced similar problems? Is there a vicibox redux 64 bit version which you would recommend me?

Thank a lot in advance.

Cheers,
Marcus

I just checken vicibox redux 3.0.7 64 bit and that one works. Hopefully this saves others some hours ;)

Thanks again for the great vicibox redux ISOs, they saved me already a lot of time!

hmm, why does opensuse want to change the architecture for some perl packages?? Will that be a problem, I think so...

Code: Select all
The following packages are going to change architecture:
  perl-Archive-Zip       x86_64 -> noarch
  perl-Digest-HMAC       x86_64 -> noarch
  perl-Error             x86_64 -> noarch
  perl-HTML-Tagset       x86_64 -> noarch
  perl-Parse-RecDescent  x86_64 -> noarch

Will try the update and after that "vicibox-install". Wish me luck ;)

all good, but I am struggling with getting the new server to the same state as my old test-server...

seems like /usr/share/astguiclient/ADMIN_update_server_ip.pl didn't update all relevant database entries. I had to and still have to update (mainly) the server_ip in several tables in the SQL-database.

hmm, perhaps my other post http://www.vicidial.org/VICIDIALforum/viewtopic.php?t=17687&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight= is a better place to discuss that ;)

That just means that those packages do not contain any binary-compiled files. So the package maintainer changed them to NoArch which means they are platform-neutral. Just like PHP and C source code are not binary files but run my binary code at the platform. It will not cause any problems.

when you have issues with that (with any os) you should go in with that partition editor (or any other) and delete all existing partitions. then you'll be starting with a clean slate as it were.

there are lots of those available (free, of course).

I could not install it fully so finally I m gonna pay some 1 to do that for me....
coz after installation there would be configuration part :(

But would try to learn it again.
Is the configuration part more complicated than installation ???

Thanx

After installation, you use the Vicidial Manager's Manual to configure. Depends on how well you follow tutorials and how "standard" your "minutes" provider is. Some find it simple, some skip lines or don't understand and have a hard time doing it.
