Hello-
I am sure this is easy. But I cannot figure it out.
How do you skip the prompt "please leave a message after the tone without deleting the audio file" prompt.
I record a greeting but the lady still insists on having her 2 cents.
I tried putting s in front of all the "u2000" in the contexts. I tried putting it in the option for the boxes.
Also, if I want to ajust general settings for voicemail. How do I change these?
Like operater max message, etc?
VERSION: 2.4-334a
BUILD: 110831-2038
Running on a quad core with 4 gigs.

You can edit the /etc/asterisk/voicemail.conf file directly if you want.
Here is some information on the options:
http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Aste ... email.conf
Says changes will not be saved in voicemail conf.

Thank you for the quick response.
I actually read that post. Found it on google.
I still can't figure out how to do it. In addition, it says in the voicemail.conf that the settings will be erased by vicidial.
How would I skip the prompt?
It is not something in the general settings.
Also, Can I change voicemail.conf and will changes not be removed by vicidial?

everything in the top section of the voicemail.conf file will be kept and not erased by vicidial.
if you can find the prompt in /var/lib/asterisk/sounds then you can replace it with a silence file and that prompt will no longer play.

I moved all files with the word *leave* in the sounds folder and it still plays the prompt. I tried updating the sound settings under the server settings.
I read that if you put the letter 's' in the context accessing the voicemail, it would skip it.
I tried changing the u2000 and u4001 in extensions.conf and anything referring to u to s in the ael file that related to Voicemail but it still plays.
Can you tell me the name of the prompt or where to place 's' in the .conf files to skip the prompt?

OK.
I found it. vm-intro.gsm is the file name.
I moved it out of the directory and copied quicksilence.gsm to vm-intro.gsm and no more prompt.
Would be useful in voicemail options.

Just a tip, you can always create your default voicemail extension and customize it, change the extension in Admin>Servers>VMail Dump Exten to your preferred extension.
Best of luck ...
