Confusion!

ViciBox is too confusing! Please post on the site itself what is the difference between server and preload and the basic install steps!

Basically my situation is as follows:

I download ViciBox 3.1.15 and install it and test upgrading a very old version of ViciDial. Works great and no issues... EXCEPT this version I downloaded is 64bit and I need the 32bits version for the production server hardware.
So now I download the ViciBox 3.1.15 i686 version and it's not working as expected. Even from the web broswer it's redirecting to /vicidial/welcome.php but there's no such file! Maybe I have to run some command, but how do I know that!?

There's something wrong with this disc. vicibox-install doesn't work for sure.

vicibox-express so far seems to be progressing, but there are missing files on the i686 disc:

Configuring general pre-requisites

Configuring DataBase Server pre-requisites
mv: cannot stat `phpMyAdmin-3.3.8.1-english': No such file or directory

Configuring Web Server pre-requisites
ln: creating symbolic link `pl': File exists
sed: can't read default-server.conf: No such file or directory

I agree on the point that there is no explanation on preload vs standard, there should be.
But there is install steps:
If you follow our walk through you should end up with a fully function VICIDIAL system.

walk through = http://download.vicidial.com/iso/vicibo ... nstall.pdf

Follow those steps and come back and post the errors if you encounter any.
I have seen the "default-server.conf"-problem before, here is the talk: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=23291

and you wrote "vicibox-install doesn't work for sure." what happens when you run that command?

many of these errors are actually notices. for instance: sed not reading the default server, i believe results in the script creating a new file (after failing to modify the non-existent one).

we never use the express version because the regular version is too easy. the express version was meant as a direct replacement for GoAutoDial, but I think it is missing the "Online Walk-through" that GoAutoDial has.

Further confusion ensues: what is "express version?"

Check out the Vicibox.com website. There are two versions of the installation. One is the "Standard" install, the other can be referred to as "Express" or "Preload". I think. He could be referring to hardware he purchased from The Vicidial Group (they may call those "express").
