Hi Kumba,

32 bit installer is not the correct link, seems like it is still the RC1 and preload version is 3.1.15 for 32bit also.

Fixed the links. What happens when you post stuff at 6am in the morning half asleep.

any guidelines for scratch installation?

or is it possible to install the RC2 on a local system and rsync it to a live system running OpenSUSE 12.1?

This is ViciBox, it is not a scratch install. I do not know what you mean by rsync this to an opensuse 12.1 install either.

we have OpenSUSE 12.1 clean installed on a remote server, so if I install ViciBox on a local server, and then use RSYNC to clone the entire "/" (root) partition of the local ViciBox on the remote server (i will ignore /dev, /proc, /sys,/mnt /lost+found etc), will it work?

Never tried moving a server that way. I am going to guess and say "No". Doesn't mean it won't work, but I wouldn't do it that way.

You would be better off installing the new server using ViciBox, telling it the SVN version to use, move the database from the old server to the new server, move the audio store directory, change audiostore.conf in apache, and copy the recordings over. If you have any special cron or astguiclient.conf settings then you should move those over too.

had a guy upgrade our server from 3.1 after doing a mySQL dump then reformatted our server and put 4.0 on. Obviously you guys did a lot of new and better changes and its not matching up nor would I think they would I wish he would of let me had known he was going to put a new version on there before the resinstall! But it is what it is...now we are frantically trying to put this all back together and get it working by the morning before our agents login. Is there a changelog or anything that could help us out trying to figure out which changes where made to which tables from those two versions? Or an idea how to best do this? :) Much appreciated!!!

Plat: did you run the "upgrade_2.6.sql" after you imported the old database? maybe you need to run "upgrade_2.4.sql" too depending on how old your old version was.
and you should specify what's not working

here is that part from http://www.vicidial.org/VICIDIALforum/v ... =8&t=16326
Going into mysql and executing the upgrade sql file:
mysql (alternatively use mysql -u root -p)
use asterisk
\. /usr/src/astguiclient/trunk/extras/upgrade_2.4.sql
quit

(When you do an update on the Database side by issuing a
"\. /usr/src/astguiclient/trunk/extras/upgrade_2.4.sql" from mysql prompt you also need to 'run':
"\. /usr/src/astguiclient/trunk/extras/upgrade_2.6.sql"

The 2.6 upgrade will add 3 columns to the vicidial_campaigns table " in_group_dial | in_group_dial_select | safe_harbor_audio_field". If you don't do the 2.6 upgrade SQL you will have problems...)
