Tabs missing in VICIdial GUI???

My build:
DB/Web Server - Dell 2950 Dual Quad Core server, 8GB of RAM, 146GB SAS drives, Raid 1.
ViciBox 4.0.3 preload iso:

Scratch installation via edited vici-install-11.1.sh script:

Everything was working fine, we were going through the motions, testing campaign settings trying to get the configuration for the campaigns and the server production ready. When all of a sudden one morning we came in and the following tabs were not showing:
All of the options under/in 'Campaign'
The show list option under 'Lists'

Just wanted to know if there is anything I should check and or do to resolve the issue. Or, if I should just run the 'perl install.pl' command again. I don't think it will break anything but I want to make sure, we are/were 90% ready for production and this popped up.

Over two hours and no response? Guess I will just hit 'perl install.pl' and hope for the best.

Ok.

So running the install.pl script did not resolve the problem, I can only come to the conclusion that something has gone wrong in the DB...

To be continued, going to find the script that checks if there are any irregularities with the DB, should have it in my notes somewhere.

ya lost me. perhaps it would help if you post the URL where the "missing" information is expected to be shown. and check your user permissions to be sure you didn't just activate a "hide this stuff" feature. LOL

also worthy of note: when you answer your own question, the phpBB system considers your post "answered". and the rest of us (who pay attention for those not having had any help yet ...) are quite content to let you talk to yourself until we have more time to check on existing conversations. translation: don't bump your thread, it does not improve your chance of getting an answer, it has quite the opposite effect. I did not even see this post until now because I don't check "conversations" but "unanswered posts" during the day. Then I catch up on the "conversations" later to see what others are talking about.

Thanks for the info regarding bumping a thread. Frustration got the best of me.

I am unable to view the options for the Campaigns under /vicidial/admin.pl
The data is still in the DB and agents can select the campaigns from the agent login. However I cannot make any changes to any campaigns because clicking any option under that heading goes to a blank page.

User permissions are fine, I even toggled the option on anf off. If 'modify campaigns' is off a message is displayed saying no permission. However in my case when set to the option to 1 nothing is shown. Same for 'show lists'

Where would the "hide stuff" option be if there is any?

you could have a crashed table, but ordinarily that sounds like you attempted an upgrade and forgot to upgrade your DB. or you upgraded some of the servers but not all in a cluster.

the "hide stuff" options i was referring to were in the user settings. and you appear to have checked them. have you activated ALL options for your user except the ones that specify to hide lead information? just to be sure you are not misunderstanding a permission setting ... allow all permissions for the user?

Yes everything is ok in regards to the user setting/permissions.

No the only thing that was being done at the time was the installation or implementation of bulk records via the DB. There were no upgrades of any of the two servers in the cluster. The third test server has been inactive for some time.

I had to drop the database and rebuild it from scratch using the installation script. I am currently copying the data from the old/dropped table into the new via a MySQL client.

you should never add data directly to vicidial via mysql. you'll likely break it.

loading bulk leads into Vicidial is done via the Command Line Lead Loader. It's in the /usr/share/astguiclient folder in Vicibox servers.

directly accessing the system via MySQL voids the non-existent warranty. LOL (IE: You're having a problem nobody else has, and nobody else adds data directly via MySQL, they stick to the Vicidial GUI ... I think those two facts are related!).

Thanks for that bit of information. I injected a hoard of users at one time. It worked the second time around, in the future I will seek a different methodology.

Does the current VICI suite have a method for creating multiple extensions/phones like they did in the past? And what about adding bulk users, to enter up to 70 users individually was too daunting so I injected them via mysql

Thanks again for the facts. When I dropped the DB and rebuilt it from scratch a good amount of the rebuilding was via mysql. I think I will rebuild the rest via GUI to avoid any other broken pieces.

FYI: My test run yesterday went well so we should be launching VICI production today.

It's not really a rule so much as a guideline. LOL

There is a utility in the /srv/www/htdocs/vicidial folder for provisioning multiple phones simultaneously.

We've found that quite often the best way to add/modify a record you've never hit before is to use the GUI with &DB=1 added to the URL ... and grab the mysql code (or just extract it from the web page directly).

Also, you can use phpMyAdmin or mysqldump to grab a table or specific records from a table for movement ... just be sure the version you copied from is identical SVN revision to the one you're copying to!

How does one go about adding additional columns when loading leads. I haven't been able to get my hands on the new manual as yet (waiting on my company to fund the purchase). Can it be done via the GUI or the Command Line Lead Loader?
