vicibox 5.0 empty

i've just installed latest vicibox 5.0, downloaded yesterday from offsite, but after installation there is no running asterisk and web server. is it norma? what have i did wrong?

either try vicibox 4.0.3 or try to install again and this time pay attention for errors. or (perhaps) complete the entire installation. i've had a few clients who only followed the directions to boot from the CD or just install the OS ... never actually installed vicidial itself. so ... without you telling us which steps you took, we are not likely to be able to say anything other than go back and read the directions thoroughly and try again. then tell us what you did and where (in the directions) you found your first problem.

also: don't say "latest yesterday", actually list the full name of the .iso from which you installed. it's a technical support forum and misunderstandings are far too easy with generalizations. we can't tell you that you downloaded the old flawed RC if you don't tell us which .iso you used. help us help you!

i use ViciBox5.i686-5.0.2.iso put it on virtualbox: just boot from image and type os-install, next i use default settings (just change timezone and hostname)

Download the installation manual, follow all of it, remove the CD when it reboots.

Sounds like you haven't installed it correctly.

so the OS is installed. what about the rest of it? there's more to it ...

here's all my steps:
plug image in, boot
press enter at VICIBOX5
log in, execute os-install
language windows - leave default
time zone - select ukraine
partitioning - leave default (4gb swap 46gb root)
confirmation - install
reboot now
set needed hostname
set user name and password
login and having known problem: asterisk and web servers are down
reboot - no effect.

where i prevent a mistake?

you could finish the installation, that would probably make things run smoother.

the vicidial manual shows a lot of steps in installation. one of the phases includes installing the OS. after that you install vicidial. if you only perform the install os portion and skip the install vicidial portion ... it stands to reason that vicidial will not be installed.

so the question is, why did you not not follow the rest of the installation instructions? LOL

also: post the .iso version you are installing. there is a difference between the preload and standard versions of the .iso (as discussed in the manual ...).

i don't know if the manual for v5.0 is available on the vicibox site yet, but if you can't manage 5.0, step back to 4.0 which does have a pdf manual available.

PS: If you just want a simple answer, try entering "vicibox-install" and see how that works out. But DO read the install manual.
