Error Installing Vicibo-express

Postby rameez.amjad4 » Tue Jul 16, 2019 4:48 pm

Good Day,
Trying to install a server on a fresh install of vicibox 8.1.2 after all updates when i am trying to install vicibox-express i am getting following error, need your help, Thanks.

vicibox-express

ViciBox v.8.1 Installer

Vicibox Express mode activated

This will install ViciBox in "Express" mode. This will result in a
single server installation performing all roles of the ViciDial Call
Center Suite. This is the simplest method of installation and generally
suitable for use with 20 agents or less. Recommended server specifications
are Quad-Core CPU, 4GB of ram or more, two 500-GB enterprise-class SATA hard
drives in RAID1. Software RAID can be configured through the partitioner
during installation as well as hardware RAID cards.

To continue beyond this point will be destructive to the installed system.

Do you want to continue with the ViciBox Express install? [y/N] :y

Beginning installation, expect lots of output...

Opening firewall ports...
Local SVN revision matches DB revision: 3121
Doing general DataBase requirements...
Failed to enable MariaDB: 256 at /usr/src/astguiclient/conf/vicibox-install.pl line 241, <STDIN> line 1.

Do not use "vicibox-express", use instead "vicibox-install" the standard installer is more reliable and is still very easy to use. All you have to do is answer the questions regarding which roles will be installed (eg: web? db?). Follow the instructions in the install pdf on vicibox.com and it will work very well. Just avoid the express installer as it is the one Vicidial Related thing that tends to get broken and nobody fixes it for a while.

Or you can try the 7.0.4 express install, which like still works.

Moving this post to the Vicibox Installation forum instead of the Support forum. 8-)

Me too. Install completes without problem but Zypper ref fails because of missing repo
I tried to find an alternate ( mirror) but can't find any.

How do we proceed ?

vicibox81:~ # zypper refresh
Repository 'openSUSE-Leap-42.3-Apache' is up to date.
Repository 'openSUSE-Leap-42.3-Oss' is up to date.
Repository 'openSUSE-Leap-42.3-PERL' is up to date.
File '/repodata/repomd.xml' not found on medium 'http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/server:database/openSUSE_Leap_42.3/'
Abort, retry, ignore? [a/r/i/...? shows all options] (a): ?

I was able to get past this - here is how

First, the link format in the install is wrong in that it should be ....server:/database...... NOT server:database
Fixing that is not enough because the correct format path is not there either.

Once I had the right format I googled 'repositories/server:/database/openSUSE_Leap_42.3' - (you will need the quotes)

first hit was https://mirror.yandex.ru/opensuse/repos ... Leap_42.3/

I then edited the file for this repo in /etc/zypp/repos.d
nano openSUSE-Leap-42.3-Server-Database.repo
baseurl=https://mirror.yandex.ru/opensuse/repositories/server:/database/openSUSE_Leap_42.3/

save and rerun zypper ref and it works!

No idea if yandex.ru is a 'safe' mirror but it got me going again.
