Cannot boot to install with HDD

I am having a really odd issue. Just want to see if anyone else might have come across it. I burned the Vicibox files to a DVD and booted. But no matter what I select in the BIOS, it always boots to the previous VicidailNOW install. But I know that the DVD boots by taking out the data connector from the HDD. I have changed the priority in BIOS, selected only CD-ROM and disabled all other devices for boot, even disabled all devices; but it always boots to the VicidialNOW install. I am using a Gigabyte motherboard MA78GM-US2H. Anyone have ideas?

Did you burn a DVD or a CD? Have you tried with a CD?
How did you place the files on the DVD/CD? You must not put the ISO file and burn it, but rather use BURN IMAGE option in the program you have used.
What program did you use?

I think it is a problem with the motherboard or its BIOS cause I unplugged the HDD before boot and booted into the CD/DVD. Then once the installer started, plugged in the SATA connector for the HDD. That seemed to work.
