mtr problem

hello

we had install vicibox on a virtuall machine. (vmware)

the system runns but
we had a massiv mtr problem in the last instanz.

we dont know is it an asterisk / vicidial disty problem oder an hardware problem.

do NOT run vicidial or vicibox on VMware, VirtualBox, or any other virtual server.

put it on a cheap P4, if you like. but NOT a virtual anything.

not that it just won't work, because some claim to have gotten it working. but simply because the concept of troubleshooting when in that environment is not worth the effort as invariably the problem is that it's virtual and won't work. the problem doesn't occur when the machine is not virtual ...

i've done it, but only for comparison and for SINGLE calls for testing and training. (yes in VMWare) but NO load and with a SERIOUS machine running it (at least a Quad 2.3Ghz w/4gRAM).

with hardware being so cheap nowadays why risk with a virtual environment?

Could it be you are just testing some stuff?
