Distributed sites, central management possible?

Postby TalkTalk » Wed Aug 28, 2013 5:45 am

Hi Guys,

We have 5 sites, geographically distributed. Each having independent Vicidial Box.(GoAutoDial CE 2.1 on single box, no extra softwares, all connected to the central office via 2mbps mpls connections). Each site has about 90~100 seats.

We are upgrading out setup with number of agents getting in upwards of 200~ seats at each site, totally to 1000 seats. We would like to have a centralized management of this setup. Each site can have there independent campaigns, but the administrator can have a central management and reporting accessibility.

We are aware that Vicidial could be used in distributed setup, but is this centralized management possible? We have already purchased the user guide, and we are ready for professional consultation if required. But we need to know the feasibility before we move on.

You will need a virtually re-written front end for reporting and campaign management as well as a sizeable server clusters at each site to accommodate 200+ seats.
This will be quite a bit of software development work perhaps vicidial.com or poundteam.com will be able to fulfil these requirements.

I would be interested to see if this is at all possible.

This is actually possible. Since the central management server just needs to pull data (or push) from the servers in their locations. This can be done either on-demand when the administrator clicks the site's corresponding page (in the management server) or on a given interval (every 1 to 5 minutes). Their are open source server and network monitoring systems/software (Nagios/Opsview, Monit, ZenOSS and etc) doing this (but not specifically for Vicidial) using the same principle.

Upgrading to GOautodial v3.0 is recommended when you upgrade your systems. It has a widget based dashboard (drag n drop) that can be customized to probably show the statistics from all your GOautodial servers location/offices. So at a glance you know the status/statistics of your offices.
