I just want to ask if shutting down of asterisk server every week end like sat and Sunday is Fine?

Only if you're not expecting any incoming calls (and don't mind if you have fast busy during that time)

We only used vicidial for outbound calling. so do you think its fine to turn it off during week ends?

Absolutely.

You could also just disconnect the network wire. Or set up a cronjob to disable networking and re-enable it.

But powering down is definitely an option. Before security was improved we had several customers that would turn their systems off after every shift. Just to be sure nobody could steal services while they were sleeping.

if you dont have any operations then you can turn those machines off to save electricity and hardware wear and most of all to prevent intrussions
