Customer hears bloop

Postby mav2287 » Sun Oct 27, 2013 8:39 pm

I am trying to make it so the bloop only plays on the agents side as I don't want the customer to hear "bloop" when they pick up the phone. I was looking through the forums and saw some post about changing extensions.conf but that seems to kill the bloop for all parties. I also saw a little bit about a delay but I only saw it on the inbound calls. Did anyone ever figure out a way to do this?

It's a feature request no one has funded. It probably exists in the Vicidial Issue Tracker, but would require a methodology change that is apparently not "high" in the list of priorities for The Vicidial Group (unless someone funds it or hires someone to fix it).

Presently the sound is played IN the meetme room. There is no way to play it without everyone hearing it or delaying entry of the client (unacceptable for outbound dialing, it could easily put the wait time above 2 seconds which is illegal).

So ... the feature isn't likely to get built for law-abiding companies without someone specifically paying unless it is done with "ChanSpy" which many consider unstable. PoundTeam has quoted building a prototype of it for a couple clients, but to date no one has jumped.

hmmm. Was the prototype going to be ChanSpy based and what did the cost look like?
