recording in seperate server

Hi,

I am new in vicidial and astguiclinet, i install vicidial , asterisk in one server and mysql is separate server and looks all working fine.....

but i fetching only one problem ...recording , its makes the server overloaded , i llook the dial plan of recording i saw its waiting 3600...

is it waiting also after the call is finished?

and is it possible i put dial command on recording extension and record the call in another asterisk server , actually i want to make recording in separate server...is is possible?

by the way i am using vicidial beta 5 release of 2.0.3

You should move your complete asterisk to other server . like apache+mysql on one server and vicidial+asterisk on other one . It depends on number of agents you have .
It doesnt wait for 3600 seconds as in dialplan .. as soon as customer hangup vicidial stops recording .
If you have few agents and dont want to add other server then consider raid to decrease load on hard disk ..

You should also consider recording to a RAM drive and off-loading the files to another archive machine, this will also greatly reduce the load while still recording all calls.

Thanks for the reply , i like to do apache + mysql and vicidial + asterisk but is any of the PHP file under apache has requited to use pl script under vicidial... i mean does the php file under /var/www is going to execute any file from /usr/share/astguiclient/ ? .. coz both will be in seperate server !!

I think the php scripts in /var/www do not run any scripts in /usr/share/astguiclient ( correct me if i am wrong ) . This scripts has to do with mysql database mostly .

You should do the full astguiclient install on both the web server and the asterisk server, you just will not use the bin code on the web/db and you will not use the php scripts on the Asterisk/VICIDIAL server.

As for a RAM drive, there are several ways of doing it, there is a company that makes a PCI card that you can plug into a PCI slot and put RAM into it and use it as a drive, and there is also the option of using your standard system RAM as a ram drive, but that requires a bit more Linux configuration to make work.
