Put XFER line on park when grabbing parked call

Postby dspaan » Thu Jan 23, 2014 10:08 am

Hi,

I was wondering if the following is possible:

1.Agent gets inbound call
2.Goes to the transfer-conf menu
3.Calls the desinatation party by using the PARK CUSTOMER DIAL button
4.After talking with the destination person you then use the GRAB PARKED CALL feature to go back to the caller
5.You talk to the caller and then use LEAVE 3-WAY to connect both parties with eachother

But right now when i do these steps at step 4 when i grab the caller the conversation becomes 3-way and all 3 parties can hear eachother. What i'm looking for is to place the destination number in park mode as soon as i grab back the caller. Is this possible?

For instance:

Agent: How can i help you?
Caller: I'd like to speak to John
Agent: <parks caller and dials john>
John: Hello?
Agent: I have a caller for you on the phone
John: Can you ask him what he wants?
Agent: Sure, hold on.
Agent <parks John and grabs caller <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<--------- THIS!
Agent: John is asking what this is about
Caller: I'm calling about that show for tomorrow
Agent: Alright let me transfer you to him
Agent: <leave 3 way to connect both parties>
Regards, Dennis

No, the only way to achieve your goal is to: park the call, call the 3rd party. then Hang up the xfer line and grab the call, then do the transfer call again.

Bummer. I still amazed about all the features that vicidial supports but also still amazed about some stuff it can't do which in my eyes are so obvious.

Research: Is it possible in a meetme room to stop someone from hearing sound? If so, then the feature you request COULD be added fairly easily. If not, it could still be added but it would not be ... as easy.

Presently the "show conference" button has mute buttons (not sure if they work, LOL). Adding "disable" to cause individual parties to become deaf temporarily ... could be added fairly easily IF meetme supports such a function. If not, it may be necessary to "bounce" that user to another room temporarily and then retrieve them.

It could be added as a feature, but it's not something anyone has ever requested before actually.

Alright we'll consider this then, we'll first do a couple of calls to see how the current method works. Thanks for responding gentlemen.

Also, i don't want to give you any more quote requests Matt because i still have to get a response on the last two i sent in a month ago :)
