Help with test for outbound calling

Postby mchll001 » Wed Jan 22, 2014 12:26 am

I'm doing a test with the system and I don't know if I'm doing it well.

I created 5 phone lines and it's getting registered by softphones, additionally I get an account with net2phone and apply some part of their recommended configuration to define a carrier.

The asterisk CLI informs that all phone lines are getting registered in the system and the carrier is also getting register too.
If I make a call between lines then it works fine, but if I try to make an outbound calling the carrier refuse the connection.

I have the following questions:
For make an outbound call, is necesary to loggin the user into a campaign or simply is possible do it with the phones loggin?

The information for configuration that net2phone send to me corresponds to the structure that is used in a Elastix system, so I use only the register string and the main parameters to get the register, but I'm not sure if it's necesary define somewhere in the system the information of the context provided by net2phone in order to get outbound dialling.

Thanks for your assistance,

You should have your carrier build set up the way you see the examples in the default carrier setting. The phones will register to your dialer by creating the phone extension in the dialer, then registering the account on the soft phone. I would use Zoiper Classic because you can use both SIP or IAX. Sometimes ISP's will block for SIP traffic, so you have to use IAX instead. Once the phone is registered, then you will be able to place test calls. I would make a test list of your cell phone number or inner office numbers and then call that way. Be sure to say hello when you answer!

Also, when you log in as an agent, you should minimize the softphone and never touch it again. All work should be done through the dialer. This is for your security, bc the dialer can track the traffic and who dialed it, so if you have a hack or an agent with family in another country, you do not end up paying for those calls.

Following your recommendations I contacted the SIP provider and as you said, the fault was because they sent me mistakes in the registering information.
I will following your guidelines to track the agent's calls properly.
Thanks for your assistance
