I got this message on "/var/mail/root".

DBD::mysql::st execute failed: Lost connection to MySQL server during query at /usr/share/astguiclient/AST_CRON_audio_3_ftp.pl line 398.
executing: select recording_id,start_time from recording_log where filename='20140314-xxxxxxx_dicho_xxxxxxxxx' order by recording_id desc LIMIT 1; Lost connection to MySQL server during query at /usr/share/astguiclient/AST_CRON_audio_3_ftp.pl line 398.

we are using FTP on our recordings, yesterday we got a high load average, and agents cant login, what can we do to prevent this issue.

Something went wrong with your database server. I'd start looking there first.
