It was "pingable". At least the following discussion confirms the same.

Well Matt, Repository is alive, but certainly it's not working for us. Can you help us on this please? It's a sure thing that ping is not working. I can guess that ping is blocked and perhaps it has something to do with the installation script? It's just a thought.
The same installation script worked earlier when ping was not blocked. Maybe Kumba can shed some light on this?

We disabled the pinging on that network after we were repeatedly getting brute-force attacked, but it does not prevent people from being able to connect by svn.

In fact, I just connected to the svn server from 3 different client servers in different parts of the North America on different networks(including Time Warner) and there were no problems. Unfortunately I cannot replicate the problem you are reporting.

is there a way we could download the files manually?

I tried using VPN service for my server to use US IP but no luck. I am still unsure why only us are experiencing this issue. tried using 2 ISP and 4 different server in different parts of the Philippines.

Let me know if this works for you:
http://www.vicidial.org/svn_trunk_nightly/

I've set it up to pull svn/trunk every night and zip it up in a dated zip file. It will keep the last 7 days available.

If this works well then I will link to it on the main website.

Thanks,

Looks like the network connection going to the svn server is down, and being a national holiday it might not get back up until tomorrow. Here is a link to the nightly build folder of svn/trunk exports that you can use in the mean time,

Yes! Looks like for "some reason" it has been fixed ;) Now I can access it from India ! AT LAST!

I took some time to reply this post. Checked every morning and evening for 3 days ... Is it working? ...yes It is. All right, let's see what happens tomorrow. Working today ? yes! Well, need to check it tomorrow again. SVN is working today? YES! Capital Y, capital E and S. YOU A*****E !!!

Don't accuse me of being cynical, this is in our upbringing. Let me explain it. Americans are more “down the line.” They don’t hide their hopes and fears. They applaud ambition and openly reward success. Indians are more comfortable with life’s losers. We embrace the underdog until it’s no longer the underdog. We like to bring authority down a peg or two. Just for the hell of it. Americans say, “have a nice day” whether they mean it or not. We are terrified to say this. We tell ourselves it’s because we don’t want to sound insincere but I think it might be for the opposite reason. We don’t want to celebrate anything too soon. Failure and disappointment lurk around every corner. As I said this is due to our upbringing. Americans are brought up to believe they can be the next president of the United States. We are told, “It won’t happen for you.

Indians almost expect doom and gloom so to start off that way but then have a happy ending is an unexpected joy. Network America has to give people a reason to like you not just a reason to watch you. We stop watching things like Big Brother when the villain is evicted. We don’t want to watch a bunch of idiots having a good time. We want them to be as miserable as us. America rewards up front, on-your-sleeve niceness. A perceived wicked streak is somewhat frowned upon.

There’s a received wisdom in our part of the world, that Americans don’t get irony. This is of course not true. But what is true is that they don’t use it all the time. It shows up in the smarter comedies but Americans don’t use it as much socially as we do. We use it as liberally as prepositions in every day speech. We tease our friends. We use sarcasm as a shield and a weapon. We avoid sincerity until it’s absolutely necessary. We mercilessly take the piss out of people we like or dislike basically. And ourselves. This is very important. Our brashness and swagger is laden with equal portions of self-deprecation. This is our license to hand it out.

All right, I have to stop writing ... as someone is leaning over my shoulder and reading every single word I am typing and constantly complaining that I am not fit for writing anything in Friday evenings. You see what she means. LOL

Oh and for the record I’d rather a waiter say, “Have a nice day” and not mean it, than ignore me and mean it.

God bless SVN!

Re: SVN server DOWN

Postby dreedy » Wed Jan 13, 2016 4:56 pm

Ran into this problem myself. I was throwing together a test VM using hyper V and the express installation or the vicibox-install both would error out on my with the same svn not available message. Through testing i determined it was a firewall issue on my end and had to adjust some settings. After the settings syncs across the firewall i was able to tracepath to the svn source location. Then i tried a vicibox-express installation of the nest image 6.0.4 i think it is.
