Hello,
This has been answered by Matt Florell before but I thought something may have changed so here I am asking again since I need to fix this for a client.
Vicidial produces 2 recoding files (in and out) one of them being 44 bytes long.
Is there a technical way to separate channels (caller, callee) into 2 separated wav files?
Anything that can be tried in Vicidial?
Anything that can be used in the Linux box to capture the voice and dump it to files?
I ma looking for the easiest, quickest solution if any.
Thanks

There is no consistent way to do that with built-in Asterisk recording. In some cases you can get that to work, but there are several cases where using that method will result in channels being excluded from the recording altogether.
The only way we recommend that would do what you want is to use OrecX, which is a passive voip recording product. We have several clients that use it and it allows for many other options like agent screen recording too. The basic recording core of OrecX is free while the interfaces to interact with it are not free.

Hello Matt, how are you?
Can OrecX be installed in the same box as Vicidial and have it record all calls automatically in separate channels (no agent interaction) and bypass Vicidial recording?
If yes, how difficult is this to set up?
Thanks a lot!

I've never set up OrecX, the clients that use it have always had it set up by OrecX themselves. I believe the recording component can exist on the dialer itself, but it requires a database and web instance to work as well, so it would probably be best to have those on a separate machine. That's also not including the archive server that you should have whether you are recording in Vicidial or OrecX.
