Mushroom Networks/ Advice?

Postby richardroi » Thu Jun 26, 2014 4:17 pm

Has anyone tried their product? Can this be useful for call centers because in my place internet connection is not that stable, I am looking for way to make switching automatic, we have 4x e1 2mb up/down.
Now we are doing the switching manually. Any suggestions?

Thank you.

Their site reads like a (sorry to say it, but it does) ripoff by vagueness (and "high perceived value") sales approach. Lots of catch phrases and buzz words. No simple price vs product capability.

Perhaps you should just check to see if your network provider can give you a bonded set of connections (with an appropriate router) or if there is a standard (tested, easily specced for comparison) product already on the market. Start with a 2:1 bonding product if you can, and perhaps you'll gain enough stability to run.

Regardless, unstable internet will always cause problems because existing phone calls cannot easily be "switched" during the call to a new route. That being said, if you were to use a software based router capable of determining connection quality ... it could theoretically be set to "switch" to a new gateway when an existing gateway begins to falter. And if this were also set to balance users among (or assign users to) the four connections when good, it could move users from their assigned routes ONLY when their routes suck.

I'm not sure if pfSense can handle this, but I do know that pfSense and Vicidial/Asterisk can be a ... Challenge for those who are not very good at networking with audio concerns. That being said: pfSense is quite powerful and runs in linux ... which makes it scriptable. I would not be surprised, actually, to find out that it can already accomplish this task. Oh, and it's free. LOL

Is your DAILER in the location with poor stability, or just your agents? or both?

The DIALER, agents are on local. Connection here really sucks.
Thank you WILLIAM. Will take a look at pfsense.

How does pfsense differ from clearos?
