Disconnect asterisk from stand. inst. and do tel server

Postby AlBeOn » Wed Aug 06, 2014 5:37 am

Hello everyone.
I have a doubt.
I would like to disconnect from a standard installation the asterisk and connect to a web server type vicidial.
A web server that is connected to a single gateway and would like to add another one (the one I'm talking about).
I have to run that script on the machine that I want to "clustering"?

Thanks to everybody.

Honestly, I have no idea what's going on here. But I'll guess: You want to change your single server installation (which presently has Web/Dialer/DB all in one) into a multi-server installation with separate dialer, web and db servers.

Note that if you installed with Vicibox 3 or above, all you need to do is install another server with the Vicibox installer STANDARD (Not preload!) and answer the questions during the install about which server roles you want the NEW server to provide.

No need to alter the old server. If you do not want the old server to be "web" ... then don't use it for web, there's no need to modify it ... just avoid using it for web.

If, however, you have a stock asterisk server (non-vicidial) and want to "add it" to a Vicidial installation, that's a complex procedure for someone who does not know how Vicidial works (it can be done ... but there is a fair amount of work to do). Easier to just fresh-install Vicibox on that server instead.
