Simple Question

Postby shanddew » Wed Aug 20, 2014 9:22 pm

As they say there are no dumb questions, well here goes my question. I have a simple Vicidial Cluster Setup. 1 x Web Server, 2 x Dialers and 1 x MySQL DB Server, I was trying to track down an issue with voicemails not being mailed. I have all the phones registered to VOIP1 (Dailer) and VOIP2 (Dialer) has no load on it. The issue I had was I was checking VOIP1 postfix mail log to see why the emails weren't going through but it turns out VOIP2 was sending all those emails not sure why. What I ended up doing is routing both Dialers through a smtp relay so I can check one location to see if the emails are going out. So my question is why would VOIP2 send the emails for the voicemails instead of VOIP1 where all the phones are registered.

1) Welcome to the Party! 8-)

2) As you are obviously new here, I have some suggestions to help us all help you:

When you post, please post your entire configuration including (but not limited to) your installation method and vicidial version with build.

This IS a requirement for posting along with reading the stickies (at the top of each forum) and the manager's manual (available on EFLO.net, both free and paid versions)

You should also post: Asterisk version, telephony hardware (model number is helpful here), cluster information if you have one, and whether any other software is installed in the box. If your installation method is "from scratch" you must post your operating system and should also post the .iso version from which you installed your original operating system. If your installation is "Hosted" list the site name of the host.

If this is a "Cloud" or "Virtual" server, please note the technology involved along with the version of that techology (ie: VMware Server Version 2.0.2). If it is not, merely stating the Motherboard model # and CPU would be helpful.

Similar to This:

Vicibox X.X from .iso | Vicidial X.X.X-XXX Build XXXXXX-XXXX | Asterisk X.X.X | Single Server | No Digium/Sangoma Hardware | No Extra Software After Installation | Intel DG35EC | Core2Quad Q6600

3) This is not a "General Discussion". It's a support question. Moving to the appropriate board.

4) This is not about where the "phones are registered". Note that VM is not left on the phone (at least not since 2005, LOL). It's left on the VM server. This is defined in the system settings. Admin->System Settings->Active Voicemail Server.
