Agents on calls, still show paused in real time screen

Postby tekrecdivr » Tue Jun 10, 2014 1:39 pm

Hello all, thanks for reading my post. We recently completed a fresh install of:
Version 2.8-438a, Build 140509-2201.

Since the installation we have noticed that at various times, various agents will get a pop up box stating that their session has been paused. Upon clicking out of the warning box and returning to their agent screen, BEFORE they hit resume, they will receive a call. They then can handle the call normally, all the while showing "PAUSED" in the real time screen. Has anyone seen a similar problem in this version?

This is normally due to high system load or a clock sync issue.

as geoff3dmg wrote, its usually because of a overloaded system.
look at the real time report "System Load Average:"
if it reads for example 4.0 4.0 4.0 on a system with 4 cores (real cores) then the system works at maximum, should be solved by splitting the services over more servers adding more telephony servers etc
if its above 4.0 then its worse that bad, the system starts to queue up work

Thanks for your answers DomeDan and geoff3dmg.
Im facing the same problem, additional to this im having voice issues (like agents voice keeps coming and going).
I have 1 All-in-One Server 2X Xeon CPU Quad Core ,1 HDD 7200 RPM and 45 agents logged in.
I think that my server is super overloaded.

Boiken, 45 users on a single machine, that poor machine must be begging for death by now :( You need to move into clusters ASAP, if you`re dialing in predictive mode you`d likely need 2 dedicated dialing server for that sort of load and a dedicated web server (plus the obvious MySQL).

Other folks experiencing issues, have a look at the Vicibox install guide ( http://download.vicidial.com/iso/vicibo ... nstall.pdf ) it contains some excellent guidelines regarding capacity. Whatever you do, remember that Asterisk, hence Vicidial, scales horizontally, not vertically, meaning more machines instead of bigger ones.

I know bobchaos and im surprised how can it support all that load :D
I have planed to add 2 Telephony Servers (1 Xeon Quad Core CPU,2-4 GB Ram,and a RAID 1 HDDs 320 GB)
I want to leave the actual server to act only as database and as Web Server.

I'd advise you get a dedicated web server, but you may be able to get away with that. Best way to find out id to give it a go!
