call lenght, recording length do not match

Dear All,

just joined a company who is using asterisk to call center. i ahve never worked on vicidal in prodcution though have worked on cisco's UCCE in live environment and on elastix in lab. so kind of a newbie to vicidial.

installation of Goautodial 3.0 from Yum on CentOS release 5.10.1 (Final)
Installation method.
go autodial wiki 64 bit

My Hardware are as follow
Quad Processor 10 Core Westmere EX 4850 - 2.00GHz - 4 x 24MB cache
512 GB DDR3 Registered 1066
4TB x3 SATA III in RAID 5

the issue which i am facing is of time difference.

there is a time difference between the duration of the calls on agent interaction page, INBOUND/CLOSER CALLS report and the recorded file. i have heard the recording and there is nothing missing in it. also the recording file does not seems to miss any conversation.
for example for a number XXX
duration on the agent interaction page is seconds:258
duration in the calls report is 407
duration of the recorded file is 402.

just to let you know my server is in different time zone and my agents are in a location which has different time zone.
date.timezone is commented out in php.ini. but the guy who built everything from scratch and has been looking after the whole thing says that this is not the root cause of this issue.
let me know if i missed any required info.
