I'm following the managers manual. I grabbed the svn repo for the sample data, and imported it (I think) into the database correctly with the web interface:

How do I get the user to login? I'm going through the manual again and reading through old forum posts; but have already checked that passwords and user names align. See also:

However, when I look in the Administration GUI, I checked that I just have password "password" across the board. So, to that specific question, no, because all the passwords are "password" for that very reason. However, that seems a strange result set above; login_user isn't populated!

it looks ok

conf_secret is the column for "Registration Password"

So if you use this: /agc/vicidial.php?relogin=YES&phone_login=thufirphone&phone_pass=password

then you get the message: "Sorry, your phone login and password are not active in this system, please try again" right?

make sure you're not mixing uppercase and lowercase characters in the username
is "thufir" lowercase in the agent list?

upgrade to the latest svn revision, matt recently patched that issue (if that's your case)

try to allow all campaigns temporary for the user group too

I logged in with user "123" and phone "123" with all passwords of "password" -- phew. Success!

I'm not quite sure that I upgraded the db correctly, but I did upgrade the svn trunk and followed other directions.

Thanks for letting me bounce around. I'm going to try some other logins and see how that goes. (And, the hopper was empty, but that's different thing.)

thufir_hawat is your user login not thufir.

about the db, if you are on for example version 2.8-425a, then you should run the scripts upgrade_2.8.sql and upgrade_2.10.sql to make all the necessary changes to the database

At the bottom of the page where you edit a phone there is a link called "DELETE THIS PHONE"

it feels like you should take a look at the manager manual or read it again if you have it
