Play a music on hold or custom message while waiting

Hi, Is there a way to play an audio file or music on hold while the caller is waiting on an inbound group, for the next available agent ? I setup the option Welcome Message Filename but it just play the message 1 time. I would like the caller keep listening a music a custom message while waiting.

2) As you are obviously new here, I have some suggestions to help us all help you:

When you post, please post your entire configuration including (but not limited to) your installation method and vicidial version with build.

This IS a requirement for posting along with reading the stickies (at the top of each forum) and the manager's manual (available on EFLO.net, both free and paid versions)

You should also post: Asterisk version, telephony hardware (model number is helpful here), cluster information if you have one, and whether any other software is installed in the box. If your installation method is "from scratch" you must post your operating system and should also post the .iso version from which you installed your original operating system. If your installation is "Hosted" list the site name of the host.

If this is a "Cloud" or "Virtual" server, please note the technology involved along with the version of that techology (ie: VMware Server Version 2.0.2). If it is not, merely stating the Motherboard model # and CPU would be helpful.

3) Yep, that's called Music On Hold (MOH). Look it up in the Vicidial Manager's Manual. Often you can just search for "MOH" on the web page. Not related to the welcome message.

Thanks for the quick answer Will, Well I dont know if this is the best way, but what I did was : on the ingroup setting I used On Hold Prompt Filename
and change the interval to 5 seconds On Hold Prompt Interval so it keep playing my audio file every 5 seconds. Is there a better way ?

Yep. You could set the hold music instead of the prompts that interrupt the hold music. Have you read the manual about MOH or searched for MOH in the ingroup settings and checked out all the options yet?

Also: You have not posted any information about your system, so nothing specific can be said about configuration since it has changed many times over the years (and, although it's a bit snarky ... if you're not going to bother going to the effort of posting your system info ... then the prospect of someone going to the effort on your behalf ... well ... I've not got a lot of time alloted to the Free Stuff on here, personally ...)

Good job, considering that's what I was telling you to do, too. Video is apparently easier for you than reading the Manual, LOL (Good post-back ... Video may help others!).

You will also want to post your installation method, it's often Very Important during troubleshooting.
