Network loads and balancing.

Postby slydder » Fri Aug 04, 2006 3:28 am

Hello all,

We are now in the planning phase of a vicidial & astguiclient implementation.

What I'm wondering now is at what point, ca. how many agents, will I start to flood my gigabit network and need to implement a second subnet when using GSM?

I'm figuring around 100 but am not sure. Any ideas?

Thanks,
chuck

using GSM you would start taxing your 100Mbps network at somewhere around 3000 agents. Even using ULAW you would not see significant problems until you got to 1000 agents. That is if you had a good network setup with HP Procurve or Cisco switches.

Beyond that you would only neet gigabit switches on the core of your network with the end nodes using 100MBps would be just fine.
