ringing sound to agent in autodial mode

vicidial VERSION: 2.10-448a BUILD: 140706-0927 | scratch install raysolomon guide| no cards| SIP trunk | single server | 10 agents | asterisk 1.8-vici


my agents are getting Rining sound instead of human answered calls.
AMD is enabled. ( tried without AMD) but same result.

what will be main cuase for facing this issue.
it was working fine for past 6months....

tried with another VOIP trunk , but same ringing sound in agents sessions.

i tested with different VOIP too but same result

what decides whether it is Answered or not in vicidial while autodial mode

Dahdi ,SIP or Meetme or any other vicidial scripts.....

It's either a carrier or configuration problem. It's hard to say which without looking at what happens when you place a call. I would suggest posting Asterisk CLI output when you place a call and this happens.

Everything looks okay from the Asterisk output. It sounds like an issue with your carrier or the carrier of the people you are calling. If they pass a 200OK for calls that are still ringing they will get sent to the agent.

i tried 3 different carriers from different vendors
still face the same issue

also downgraded the asterisk 1.8-vici to asterisk 1.4-vici
upgrade the dahdi to latest.... still same issue.......

Same thing here...been pulling my hair out trying to isolate or identify a fix.

We also have Dial Tones on some (Sporadic) Manual Dial Calls...raloheni have you experienced this as well? The Ring is a "PSTN" normal ring, not the ring we have set in Vicidial...which does kind of point to carrier...

Started happening to us beginning of October, posted it here: http://forum.eflo.net/VICIDIALforum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=33570 but got the same reply, "carrier" , it is a tricky one as other than getting Agents to write down numbers (killing time on the phone), sending PCAPs off to the carrier (which appear to be 200 ok completed calls...the ringing ones), etc...we have made little progress and would love any direction on how to isolate this and come up with a fix or workaround.

Bill Conley had a good suggestion to minimize the Agent Time to track them here:
Or: Create a new system status called "RING", collect them. Report it, demand a refund for all those fake answers, and demand that the carrier prune his upline to remove whomever caused the offense. You'll be doing him a favor.


We have not experienced this in over 3 years, and now all of a sudden all of our carriers? We are using good carriers as well, not the "cheap" ones. Currently have 7 Carriers which have had a great track record for a few years with us...

I am not an expert in Wireshark, and if anyone could even suggest where to look to point out to the carriers where it is (in a PCAP or log or?), this could be helpful to get them to pull upstream carriers that are causing this...

We didn't do any updates on anything that should have changed things on our side...have played with different Dial Options "HRr" - We have isolated every carrier and experience the same thing...

I am at the point where I am pulling PCAPs on all of them and getting them to the carriers.

Any help or direction is greatly appreciated!

So nobody else is experiencing this? even if it is carriers???

i am using SIP based trunk from a local vendor..

i too tried reinstalling the server with astguiclient 2.9 downloaded from sourceforge.net.
still same issue..

Vicibox upgraded to the latest SVN - I have dramatically reduced the amount of calls with the Ringing Behavior, which was FAS "False Answer Supervision: http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Fake ... ision+(FAS)+service that EVERYONE of my carriers was sending me...it was a complete nightmare to detect as the calls were receiving 200 OK SIP Responses...AND this was very sporadic. We did set up a dispo status that the agents can hit when experiencing it, which reduced the time to report it to us and made it a lot easier to pull from reports (Thanks Bill Connelly!)

I have spent the last 2 weeks pulling call examples and working with the support engineers on this and have it down by about 90% of what it was...I am wroking on the rest of them, and am not sure if there are still downstream carriers that my carriers are using that we haven't identified yet or ??? - I suspect with the improvement that we have seen thus far it is just continuing to hammer our carriers to get them to pull the carriers from our routes...

This has been by far the trickiest problem I have yet to have to troubleshoot in 3.5 years...

What also surprised me is that there wasn't a lot of people posting on this...I know we couldn't be the only ones affected...

I am having the same exact issue. What carrier are you using? I am using alcazar networks and it seems that around 40/50% of my calls that are being marked as connected are ringing. I have checked every setting and have contacted my carrier as well. Did you figure this issue out yet?

I did some debugging and found out it was the carrier, for anyone else having this issue. Making a ring disposition and sending them to your carrier should enable them to figure out which carrier it is in the stream. I have now got it fixed but for anyone else having this issue make sure to contact the carrier.
