Customer no audio issue

Hi I am new in Vicidial and configured Vicidial in cluster i.e. One database + web server and one telephony + archive server. I am having a weird issue, vicidial service is not starting automatically on boot, at every restart I had to start using /etc/init.d/vicidial start.

Secondly the big problem is after 3 to 4 calls, agents is unable to hear Customer at all. Sip phones can call each other and external number easily and have both way audio all the time. if phones join conference directly i.e. by dialing 8600051 all can hear each other. But the real issue is after 3 to 4 calls, agents is unable to hear Customers. I am using Ratio dialing with dial level 1. Total 20 agents. Any idea please?

1) 20 agents with 1:1 dialing ... you don't need (and should not have) a cluster. At this stage of understanding, a single server will be much simpler for you to grasp AND should have no problem handling all your agents. That being said: You can continue to use the archive functions on the 2nd server, but for now you may want to move all your agents phone/web to the database server along with all your admin web links. Just use the 2nd server for archiving until you have a firm grasp on how things should work. You may have more hair at Christmas time if you follow this advice. LOL

2) Note that the DB server MUST be completely operational before any other servers in the cluster are started. The other servers rely on the data from the DB server to function, and processes may well fail if it is not online and ready to go when they awaken.

3) Check your logs immediately after startup and see if you can determine why a process fails during startup. It may be the missing DB server, or something equally simple. It may also be a deeper problem that would be best resolved by a fresh server buildout. But if it's the "dialer" and not the "DB", the simplest solution would be to stop using it for now and just use the single-server solution (except for archive which only needs FTP and Apache!).

Thanks William for your detailed answer. In fact, in next month it will grow to 150 agents that's why I started in clustered mode from the start. Now Audio issue have also been fixed, it was NAT issue plus firewall issue.

150 agents? Cool. Get that single server method locked down tight and then look at having two web servers and several dialers.

You'll also very likely need to be sure you have gigabit switches to the servers so they can communicate with each other quickly and be sure they have gigabit to the rest of the offices (beware of 10/100 switch bottlenecks ... get at least one gigabit port on each switch to communicate with the servers!).

There's actually a good amount of "Enterprise" readiness you may want to address before you pass the 100 agent mark to avoid downtime. Or grow slowly so you can fix it all as you go 8-)

Web servers will need to increase capacity, all servers will need to have excess processes killed (no need to log unless you're troubleshooting). Hard drives should be cleaned nightly. Log tables archived and pruned. Lots of stuff.
