DAHDI requirement in pure SIP env

Just wanted to confirm, Do we need DAHDI module if we are using SIP trunk to the provider and using both Inbound and Outbound?

DAHDI provides the timing necessary for Meetme to work, and Meetme is how agent sessions are set up, no matter what type of channel is used.
