Are you asking about a conference bridge?

hi chrismervyn20,

Thanks for the reply.
I am asking about the meetme conference on vicidial,
is there a way that i can create a certain password for a certain conference so that I can restrict users to join the conference using a password?

1) Welcome to the Party! 8-)

2) As you are obviously new here, I have some suggestions to help us all help you:

When you post, please post your entire configuration including (but not limited to) your installation method and vicidial version with build.

This IS a requirement for posting along with reading the stickies (at the top of each forum) and the manager's manual (available on EFLO.net, both free and paid versions)

You should also post: Asterisk version, telephony hardware (model number is helpful here), cluster information if you have one, and whether any other software is installed in the box. If your installation method is "from scratch" you must post your operating system and should also post the .iso version from which you installed your original operating system. If your installation is "Hosted" list the site name of the host.

If this is a "Cloud" or "Virtual" server, please note the technology involved along with the version of that techology (ie: VMware Server Version 2.0.2). If it is not, merely stating the Motherboard model # and CPU would be helpful.

Similar to This:

Vicibox X.X from .iso | Vicidial X.X.X-XXX Build XXXXXX-XXXX | Asterisk X.X.X | Single Server | No Digium/Sangoma Hardware | No Extra Software After Installation | Intel DG35EC | Core2Quad Q6600

3) Matt is trying to find out whether you are referring to the conferences that the agents are auto-logged into upon "logging in as agents" or whether you refer to other conferences. It would be best to describe the use of these conferences and how the person who is expected to have the password will be accessing the conference. Agent? Manager? Routed to a conference from a DID?

4) This is actually a fairly easy asterisk question ... as soon as we can find out what you're talking about! LOL

for example, this could be put into a custom dialplan entry for a call menu, or in the main dialplan in vicidial and point a DID to an extension such as "7621":
Code: Select all
; Easy Conferences with PIN matching conf#
exten => _76XX,1,NoOp(${EXTEN})
;exten => _76XX,n,wait(5)
exten => _76XX,n,Authenticate(${EXTEN})
exten => _76XX,n,Meetme,${EXTEN}|dIMrc

Well, to basically help figure out which kind of conference you are potentially targeting, try choose the best option from this list:
    1. Meetme Conference - Where the agent is automatically logged in during the Vicidial login process
    2. A custom Meetme Conference room that you want to create for specific conferences which are not part of the pre-generated Vicidial Conferences

Once you have chosen an option, then William's post would be of tremendous assistance to you.
