How to Merge 2 Recordings

Postby tousif » Tue Dec 01, 2015 1:03 am

Hi,
we usually stop the recording when customer give their Credit Card information and then again resume the recordings when it's done, in that case we have 2 recordings of same conversation how could i merge them into 1 file? I read about sox command and mixmonitor but couldn't understand how to implement that

1) Welcome to the Party! 8-)

2) As you are obviously new here, I have some suggestions to help us all help you:

When you post, please post your entire configuration including (but not limited to) your installation method and vicidial version with build.

This IS a requirement for posting along with reading the stickies (at the top of each forum) and the manager's manual (available on EFLO.net, both free and paid versions)

You should also post: Asterisk version, telephony hardware (model number is helpful here), cluster information if you have one, and whether any other software is installed in the box. If your installation method is "from scratch" you must post your operating system and should also post the .iso version from which you installed your original operating system. If your installation is "Hosted" list the site name of the host.

If this is a "Cloud" or "Virtual" server, please note the technology involved along with the version of that techology (ie: VMware Server Version 2.0.2). If it is not, merely stating the Motherboard model # and CPU would be helpful.

Similar to This:

Vicibox X.X from .iso | Vicidial X.X.X-XXX Build XXXXXX-XXXX | Asterisk X.X.X | Single Server | No Digium/Sangoma Hardware | No Extra Software After Installation | Intel DG35EC | Core2Quad Q6600

3) sox isn't something you need to "implement" to combine recordings. It's an application which you would execute manually at the command line with appropriate options to accomplish the task.

4) It sounds like you want a "configuration option" within Vicidial to accomplish this task, which unfortunately does not exist. If you want an option in Vicidial, you'd need to describe how you need it to work, and pay someone to build it for you. For instance: If you want the system to recognize that the agent pressed the button to stop recording, and then pressed it again to restart recording while still with the same client, and combine these calls automatically (perhaps with a notice of "break for CC acceptance"?), that would be what you would request. Or perhaps you want to check two boxes next to two recordings in the "lead modify" page and combine them before downloading them because you know they are really one conversation ... ?

5) If, however, you merely want a command/method/script/page that would allow you to combine any two random audio recordings, sox can accomplish this (on the server) and audacity (along with lots of other apps, but audacity is free!) can likely handle it after you download the files in question.

Happy Hunting! 8-)
