Won't let me log on

I'm trying to boot up Vigibox, It lets me type in the log in which is ''root''. Then when it is time to type in the password it won't let me type. Andthing specific I have to do? please help

The password is not shown on the screen. It's typing, you just can't see it because it's a password ... for security reasons.
