use goautodial.com's instructions. you can start with stock CentOS and install from there. Instructions should be on their wiki. And don't forget to thank Gardo when you're done.

However: Virtual Vicidial is still unstable and cannot be used for more than a couple agents. So you'll need to use an instance in AWS that has a lot of power (and preferably uses a dedicated single server for your instance).

Alternately, you can just Host the Vicidial server at Vicihost.com, or PoundTeam.com, or any one of several other locations. Then you can get a single dedicated server at a reliable location.

We also have a $50/month version (virtual!) that's suitable for a couple agents (and for testing).

Vicidial has no real minimums. But 2G RAM and 20G drive space is not a bad idea. 2.0Ghz with four processors isn't a bad idea either.

But the perl scripts rely on hi-res timing and the mysql processes get "hammered" in a busy server and will be challenged to keep up when running on a virtual processor. So while there are few requirements, you have to balance that against capacity.

A single agent on a single call ... really no requirements worth mentioning. We have installed this on a Celeron with a single core at 1.8Ghz having 1G RAM and a 6G HD successfully. No problem with this in a virtual environment either.

250 agents with a press one survey and AMD while recording all calls at 80:1 dial ratio using predictive/adapt mode and g729? ... well, that has some requirements all right. LOL
