High load even 5 agents

iam observing the load on my SERVER, for 5agents the process going to 24.4%


my config

Xeon 2.4Ghz
2GB RAM
TDM800
ASterisk 1.2.17
zaptel 1.2.16

G.729 at server side
G.729 at Client side.

SIP Provider

voice going choppy with meetme,

when the call happend manually with X-lite, even 15 people
dont see the load and call quality is good.

any suggestions

Are you recording all conversations ? If yes then asterisk will still use lot of cpu to convert g729 stream

thats weird. unless you have full recordings and using g729 codecs will your load be that high. have you checked the output of top? Check w/c processess are eating your resources. Also the cron jobs being run by the system.

high load with g729?

Hi ram!

You should try to set your agents to alaw or ulaw. If the load is the half with that setting, the meetme app is going to transcode the voicestream. I looked in the sourcecode of app_meetme, and the ourput there seems to be written in slinear. (but i'm not vergy good in c). Also you should give app_conference a try, perhaps that's making a better job.

Yeh right asterisk is transcoding both the sides from g729 to slin thats why the load is so high

Hi

I have SIP account with 100 Channels
Manual dial

Just move back from 1.2.18 to 1.2.17.1 ASterisk
and 1.2.16zaptel, should be ok now with 12 agents

but load is still the same. no change.

still iam under observation the testing
