Calls waiting for agents, issue and solutions

Postby chasejordan1 » Mon Apr 25, 2016 12:10 pm

Has anyone had / have this issue...

I do political robo dialing and have 6 different campaigns, in 1 of the campaigns i have 95 different lists with 10,000 records each more or less, and another campaign with 22 lists and 250K records each more or less, the other 4 campaigns have 10 lists 10K records etc.

So my issue is that when I started adding more lists to said campaign the "Calls waiting for agents" numbers dropped dramatically and my "press1" results also dropped. I couldn't figure out why, I added more telephony servers and no joy, tried different carriers, load balancing carries. I tried everything I could think of, but my cost doubled for less results.

I then ran 1 campaign using 2 lists with about 500k records total and bamm my results went up again. I would then run 2 lists, wait a few hours, turn those lists off and turn another 2 on, etc etc, not ideal.

So I separated my server and made them all-in-one 12 different all-in-one servers, pain in the butt to manage, but my results went up again....

I then decided over the weekend to try something different. I put every back the way it was, 1 MySQL server 1 WebServer and 12 telephony servers, but this time, I made 12 campaigns and split my 22 lists between all 12 campaigns and my results were fine.

So I think the problem is how many "active" lists you have in each individual campaign, I don't know what the happy number is, whether it's total records or the amount of lists per campaign but there is a degradation problem somewhere.

My SQL server is in MHO a beast.

Any thoughts, solutions? Either way I hope this insight helps someone and I the subject line is worded correctly.

Yes, the ACTIVE lists are what is most important, but also the hardware specs and configuration of your MySQL server are very important.

Even on the highest level of MySQL server configurations we recommend keeping the total leads in ACTIVE lists below 500k. And for lesser hardware configurations we would recommend that number is even smaller.

Per campaign keep it below 500K or the entire ACTIVE lists in ALL campaigns keep below 500K?

I think this is really good information to have.

it's per campaign. But keep in mind that's on a properly configured database system with at least 16GB RAM, dual quad-core CPU, a MegaRAID caching RAID controller and fast drives. Lesser hardware will lead to less capacity.
