Hi friends, i need some help sending voicemail to email. i created the extension with my email on it, but cant receive anything on my mailbox. Do i have to setup anything with yast ??

Either it can not reach that IP (perhaps you're blacklisted or NOT whitelisted or bad DNS?) or your ISP is blocking port 25. If so, you'll need to set postfix to relay through an actual email account. If your ISP allows it, you may be able to use their outbound smtp email relay. If not, you can use just about any mail service at which you have an account. Most will require a login to send the mail out, except (possibly) your ISP who may assume based on your IP address that you are "you" and allow without user/pass authentication.

So now your question is "postfix mail forwarding" which is not a Vicidial question. Although there may be some posts for setting up postfix to mail relay on this board, there are many more places for this elsewhere on the web. And your best bet would be to get specific instructions for OpenSuSE Postfix mail forwarding if you use Vicibox. Not hard, but very technical. 8-)

Neither of which is likely related to "they didn't answer you". You're sending a request. They are ignoring you ... OR they are never getting the request. Nothing you change on your end is going to fix that unless there is a port blockage in your firewall.

So you have to send your request through a real mail service, most likely. Especially if your ISP is blocking port 25.

My server is local, port 25 it's not blocked by the firewall, before setup email under extensions or voicemail there is any missing step ?? this is the 4th server i have installed and i have never get the voicemail to email on any. Thanks in advance

"my server is local" and "port 25 is not blocked". These are unrelated statements, but you put them next to each other and I get the impression you think that they are related. So let's explore this a bit more ...

How do you know that port 25 outbound is not blocked?

8- Create new Voicemail in Vicidial
Admin -> Voicemail -> Add A New Voicemail Entry

Just deployed a new server, followed same steps and voicemail to email not working

1- Yast
2- Network Services -> Mail Server
3- Outgoing Mail Server -> mail.domain.com
4- Authentication -> Outgoing Mail Server = mail.domain.com / username = voicemail@domain.com / password = XXXXXX
4- Connection Type -> Permanent -> Next -> Next
5- Open Port in Firewall -> X
6- Finish
7- Quit
8- open /etc/asterisk/voicemail.conf and add/edit this lines under [general]

This would be an issue to take to a postfix forum. Your server is trying to send to a mail service but is not connecting. It's possible that you're being ignored and it's likely that port 25 is blocked for outbound traffic. So you'll probably need to configure postfix to send through a mail relay using a different port. Gmail, Yahoo, etc., all have alternate ports.

But this is not related to Vicidial or asterisk (as they are in fact generating the email as they should!)

Not difficult, nor particularly expensive. But not related to Vicidial. You're much more likely to find your answer on a forum specifically for this topic (postfix, for instance). 8-)

In which case, your server is attempting to connect and being ignored OR the packets are being blocked. See my earlier response, you should be working with a Postfix forum to work your way through this outbound email issue. Postfix is not difficult, but it's not Vicidial. We do this all the time, but every email provider has their own ports and setup and in a postfix forum this gets easier.

Vicibiox 8 moved some things around due to the new yast/OpenSuse menus. Wander around in that menu (or check an OpenSuSE forum!). I bet you find it.

i couldnt find the "mail server" option too.

So i did a bit of digging and did the following and it appeared.

Code: Select all: zypper in imap postfix fetchmail yast2-mail

After that completes, you should have the basic components for what you want.
You should now be able to open YAST and see an applet "Mail Server" in the Network Services category.
Use that to configure your mail server, if necessary
