time synchronization error

I have getting time synchronization error every 15-40 minutes on a vicibox express server with only 4 users doing outbound calling. how may i fix this ???

Note the system could complaint about multiple arguments on the above command

Since PHP and DB times are correct, this is more likely a Table Crash.

Have you read the previous posts in this thread and at least attempted the solutions offered?

Had a power outage recently? Unplugged the server or turned it off with the power switch instead of at the command line?

OK: So the first time, your description is "doesn't work". Then you post the complete debug output TWICE instead of merely posting that you got a lot of "OK" table responses and some "The storage engine for the table doesn't support check" responses.

I'm not going to read through all that output to see if there were any other responses, LOL.

But if those were the only two then it *DID* work. Which means you do not have any broken tables and there's a different problem.

Perhaps you changed the IP of your server but did not run the IP Update script?

What i have noticed it's that when happen this error the server time it's not the same as eastern time so i have to update tables and go to yas time and syncronize time i have backup on this server and every time i have to reboot i do it by command ... Why it's this happening ???

I install this server a week ago i dont have other issues, i just told you the procedures i follow ...
Check and optimize mysql tables then on the report page the time on the db and php servers were the same but the other was totally different, when type yast -> time the time was not syncronized ... Rhere is any way to fix this ??

That depends on what actually fixed your problem.

Possibly Properly configuring NTP.

ntpq -p

This should show synced remote servers. If it does not, then you may have a problem. You may also have a low/dead CMOS battery ($2 part).

Also, next time try fixing/checking one thing then rebooting. If that does not fix it, try something else first next time. Eventually you may find the actual problem instead of "trying a bunch of stuff" each time. (Been there, done that.)

So... usually table check and reboot fixes it. But this time it did not, and you had to set the time.

Next time check the ntp status first and see if that's broken before you begin. If the server loses time sync, something is always wrong. Could be an attack (unlikely, but possible) or a CMOS battery. Note that if your server gets out of sync by more than 5 minutes, it will not attempt to sync any more. CMOS battery death can cause this quite easily.

1) Your DB server should be reaching out ONLY to approved NTP servers. Not a "pool" (as those are potoentially attackers).

2) Your NONDB servers should be using the DB server as an iBurst ntp server. In other words: The non-db servers should be using the DB server as their trusted time source. It's NOT important that your servers have the right time, only that they all agree with each other on what the time is.

Um ... yes.

If you have not yet whitelisted your server's firewall, you're going to need to do so before something bad happens.

I strongly suggest: http://viciwiki.com/index.php/DGG

However, the DGG portion of that is merely to make it easy to add Authorized IPs. The instructions for locking down the server BEFORE installing DGG are all that's really necesssary. Once performed properly, your system should be in whitelist mode: Only those with authorized IP addresses can access the system. No one else should know it exists and will not get a packet past the firewall.
