How to restore database to another db server?

Does vicidial versions matter?

Use mysqldump to capture your source database, I think you should explore both server's DB structure to see if there is any change, Using PHPMYADMIN will make your live easier when completing this task.
restore is done using the mysql command example :

mysql asterisk < backup_name.sql

It's indeed helpful. But still not sure if whether I'll have to reinstall a new vicidial.

It seems that the db version of the dumpfile is older than the db it was restored to, this might have caused the anomaly as per the thread you have provided
