Hi,
I am totally a new user of linux and i have installed CentOS over it Asterisk's free PBX and then VICIDIALER, with the help of one linux administrator, who has done for me remotely. Now after this i want to run my VICIDIALER, from my server. I am able to view the Administartion panel and other two panels too. I want to make outbound calls through this vicidialer. Presently i am having My Database in MS-SQL server, where i have information about the users like name, phone number, ssn, etc.. I want to transfer those data from SQL SERVER to MYSQL so that i can start auto dialing.
The manuals provided at website is not having enough stuff to run VICI Dialer easily. I need some technical help from you so that i can start working with my VICIDAILER, and can make outbound calls. If you have any manual then please send me link or help me remotely.
My Asterisk PBX is working fine with IAX2 and SIP softphones very well. Help me....

The Manager Manual for VICIDIAL is still being written at this time. I am about 50% done with it at this time and should be able to release it some time next month.

As for your issues, you should be able to export your data from MSSQL in some way and then you will just need to have that data in some form of TXT, CSV or XLS file then you can use the web-based super lead loader to import that file. The lead loader link is available from the LISTS section of the vicidial/admin.php page.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I transfered the data from MSSQL to MYSQL and has been uploaded very well...But i am not able to do any dialing through this. Neither Manual dialing nor automatic dialing is working.

Please let me know - how do we start the automatic dialing through vicidialer. I have made a campaign and added script to it...But my outbound call must contain prefix 70 to make calls through the PBX (Asterisk).

I think you would have an easier time if you contated one of our recommended consultants:

There are a whole lot of items that you need to make sure are configured properly (which is not very easy if you are not that familiar with Asterisk) or else this will take you weeks to get working and you will be asking a lot of questions.

On to your questions:
- is your AST_VDhopper.pl script running and putting leads in your hopper?
- is your AST_update.pl script runnng?
- you can set your dialing prefix for VICIDIAL in the Campaign Detail screen "dial prefix" field

Thanks for your response. Our Asterisk is configured and works well with the soft phone. We just need to integrate it with VICI dialer and start making outbound calls. Apart from the files that you mentioned in your response, do we need to do anything else in order to start making outbound calls? We have uploaded the data. Do we need to integrate the dialer with our Asterisk PBX and the softphone separately?

Have you read through the entire SCRATCH_INSTALL?

I would recommend reading it since it contains every step you need to make to get VICIDIAL running, including extensions.conf changes and file configurations.

Hello Sir,
I have installed the IDEFISK softphone in CENTOS. but when i started it i get this error

[root@asterisk /]# ./idefisk
./idefisk: error while loading shared libraries: libexpat.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Is there any solution to it. Mean while i have installed its windows version and it has been registered to our PBX. I can make outbound calls through it. I am configuring the VICI Dialer as described in SCRATCH_INSTALL file. I am installing the utilities as described there. Hope that it must start running soon.
but help me how to make auto dialing work, i am not any linux guy.

Looks like it's expecting the expat library to be installed but it's not on your Centos box. I've never run into that problem before, but it should be a matter of finding out what RPM you need to load on your centos box to get libexpat installed.

I have gone through the scratch_install file and have installed all the accessaries given there. I have my IAX softphone working very well with asterisk PBX. but i am not able to use VICIDIALER still now. I think there must be some blunder code change required to run VICI DIALER with ASTERISK PBX over CENTOS. I have created the phone using this URL

As for your specific issue with IDEfisk, if you cannot figure out how to install libexpat you should contact the writers of IDEfisk for support since I have no debug knowledge of IDEfisk or how to get it running beyond the systems I run it on.

Are you having any other VICIDIAL-specific issues?

Don't get angry, since yesterday i have not received any reply that's why i have posted it twice so that u may see either of it.
I have still problem in working with your VICI DIALER. You must now understand what is my setting now. I have IDEfisk softphone on my windows machine on the public IP and PBX and VICIDIALER on another Public IP. My IDEfisk has registerd itself to my Asterisk PBX Server and can make outbound calls through it. Now i want only one thing that it starts automatic dialing from that phone and transfer it to some other extensions of the PBX. You have the great knowledge so please let me know how to make it possible. please paste in this forum soon.

what is the output of this command in your Linux command-line:
"screen -r"

Are there any records in your vicidial_list table?

in both the tables vicidial_list and vicidial_hopper has 7 and 1 records respectively.

I have seen now one error in http://MYIP/VICIDAIL/admin.php

Warning: mysql_num_rows(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /var/www/html/VICIDIAL/admin.php on line 3784

It looks like none of your keepalive cron scripts are running properly. Did you enter all of the entries into the crontab as it states to do in the SCRATCH_INSTALL?

If you did then we need to start by trying to run them manually from the command line and see if they are giving you any errors.

Hi,
I am now facing some new problem

screen -r
There are screens on:
29590.ASTsend (Dead ???)
15226.pts-1.asterisk (Attached)
4988.ASTlisten (Dead ???)

Can u tell me in which table the numbers must be placed for auto dialing. Since in manual dialing it is showing that Time out while ringing for 60 sec. but i have no sound of ring.

If you are not going to answer my questions then I cannot help you. Where the leads are doesn't matter until you get the core server scripts running. First things first:

Sorry about that. We have followed the scratch_install - is there a way to double check that the Keepalive cron scripts are running properly?

Seems like we are almost there...hopefully we should be able to test it today. Thanks for all your help.

Run each of them manually in the Linux command line and see if any errors appear:

/home/cron/AST_update.pl --debug

/home/cron/AST_VDauto-dial.pl --debug

These are just two of them, but usually the problem for all can be diagnosed by looking at issues with these two. Post any errors.

What version of Net::MySQL are you using?

0.08 is required because 0.09 does not work. The instructions in the SCRATCH INSTALL should have installed 0.08 if you ran them exactly.

you should see something like this as one of the results:

then just head that file:

and you should see a $VERSION variable:

thats suppose to be an underscore not a dash

try updating/reinstalling your slocate module "yum update slocate.i386" then do the locate command again "locate -u" & "locate MYSQL.pm"

you don't actually need gpg on there just do a force install:

"force install Bundle::CPAN"

or next time when it asks you if you want to include GPG type "n"

Hi,
I got this error when try to acess mysql

[root@asterisk cron]# /usr/local/mysql/bin/mysql
ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)
[root@asterisk bin]# ./mysqladmin status
./mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed
error: 'Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)'

Please help me

depending on how you installed mysql or what version you are using, the mysql.sock may be in another location than /tmp/mysql.sock like /var/run/mysql/mysql.sock

in this case the easiest thing to do is just sym-link the file:

ln -s /var/run/mysql/mysql.sock /tmp/mysql.sock

Hi,
i have two new problems first is
[root@asterisk asterisk]# asterisk -r
Unable to connect to remote asterisk (does /var/run/asterisk.ctl exist?)
second is
[root@asterisk asterisk]# mysql -u root -ppassw0rd
ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (111)

but there is a file named mysql.sock
that's why i am unable to access my database
help me.
