setup recommendation for 350 agents

Postby Invictus » Wed Dec 28, 2016 10:16 am

We use;
Vicidial VERSION: 2.9-441a, BUILD: 140612-1628
asterisk 1.8.23.0

and we have a hp storage server;
2 x XEON X5690
148GB memory
2TB HDD

is our server enough for 350 agents? should we install full server (asterisk/web/database) or create vps's on server and use in cluster mode?

No, one server is not enough for 350 agents.

To tell you how many you will need, and their hardware specs, you have to provide us with more information:
- how many SIP trunks
- what codecs will you use
- what % outbound and inbound
- will you be autodialing, and if so, what line-to-agent ratio

- min 3, max 5 SIP trunks
- codecs we will use: ulaw, alaw, g729
- 90% outbound, 10% inbound
- we will use autodial with max ratio 5

Here would be our MINIMUM recommendations for a system with those requirements:
- 14 x dialers(single quad-core CPUs with 8GB RAM)
- 2 x webservers(single quad-core CPUs with 8GB RAM)
- 1 x DB server(quad-quad-core CPUs with 32 GB RAM and LSILogic MegaRAID card with 4 x fast SSD drives set up in two RAID-1 partitions, one for DB data and one for everything else)
- also recommended are another DB server to operate as a slave/reporting/backup DB, as well as an archive server to store recordings

We have set up many VICIdial systems of this size, and not using a configuration like the above WILL lead to problems with your system.
