Postby iperfectleads » Sun Feb 05, 2017 8:43 am

I have Vicidial 2-14-585a build 170114-1356 installed on a dell poweredge 2950. Getting conflicting opinions 1. I can install vtiger on same server. 2. to install vtiger i need to have a totally different server. Does anyone know which is right?

You can install Vtiger on the same server if you want to.

I have vicidial 2-14-585a build 170114-1356. Could someone explain the reason for having a static ip address versus a dynamic ip address. Can Vicidial work with a dynamic ip? The reason I ask I have an internet provider that offers 150/15 mps and a static ip and other internet provider that offers 300/300 mps but no static ip.
Thanks

The static IP address is usually used for the local LAN IP, not the real-world Internet IP.

The IP is used to keep track of what server an event happened on. If you will only use a single server, just use 127.0.0.1 as your VICIdial server IP.

you are getting confused my frend

think of it this way ...internel and externel

internel can have static ip address and a dynamic ip address ie 192.168.0.1

externel can have static ip address and a dynamic ip address ie 89.258.2685.23

both are sepret but with port forwding you can link the to addreses using your rooter setup

setting up a vicidiall or server uses internel mainley ....onley when porting to you voip pervider duz an externel ip be reqerd for an ip lockdown setup or when an agent needs to login to the server.

setting up externel to a static ip (The reason I ask I have an internet provider that offers 150/15 mps and a static ip) is onley need to do if you do not want your externel ip changing all the time making ip authentication ezyer (ip lockdown if you wish to no more look for DGG ip lock down its ezy to find )
