High CPU Utilization Database Server

Postby rbbumanlag » Tue Jun 06, 2017 5:02 am

Hi,

ViciBox 6.0.4.(iso) | Asterisk 1.8.32-3-vici | VERSION: 2.14-594a BUILD: 170226-0850 | Cluster Setup | Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2609 V3 | 16GB DDR4 RAM | 1TB (SAS) |No Digium/Sangoma Hardware | No Extra Software After Installation | Virtualized on XenServer

Database Specifications:
8 Cores
8 GB RAM
100 GB HDD Usable space on a Raid 10 Configuration

30 Agents

Question:

When generating reports, we are having problem in which our 8 core server is using 1 CPU with 100% utilization when generating a month loads of data.
then we are having problem in which users are experiencing slowdown on the access of the vicidial portal. Based on my observation, vicidial/opensuse is not using the 8 cores. then when vicidial uses core 1 and then generated a report, it also uses core 1 making a single core go 100% instead of using the other free cores. Is there anyone having this problem?

Thanks!

If you want good database performance, move your database to a separate physical server, use a RAID-10 with four dedicated fast drives and do not use any kind of virtualization.

Another option is to run your reports off of a slave MySQL server, so there will be no agent performance issues when you run intensive reports.
