Clustering Vicidial

Postby rbbumanlag » Tue Jul 11, 2017 1:07 am

Hi,

I am looking into 2 options for clustering vicidial on asterisk/telephony server.

1st is through Linux Clustering that includes DRBD, Corosync and Pacemaker.

The other one is through the use of corosync, pacemaker that the asterisk server will share a VIP and sync the /etc/asterisk configuration.

I have a separate archive server on which all recordings will be converted there.

Question:

Is DRBD advisable to use in asterisk?

Or should i consider the 2nd option?

Thanks!

I think I would need more details on how exactly you are planning to set this up before I could say if it's recommended or not.

If you are just using the mirroring and failover, then it should work well. If you are planning to use the same storage device for all machines, then you might run into bottleneck throughput issues as we've seen in the past when clients try to do that.
